HAZARD EMERGENCY
CASE STUDY
Project description
Natural disasters can't be stopped, but we can prevent or mitigate the damage they cause. A disaster management app can help warn people of the coming disaster and help save lives. By educating people on how to react in a crisis, how to find shelters, and how to find loved ones, you can or how to help. Help rescue teams locate people stranded by sharing information platform users share. This paper presents a prototype app interface to explore how to best design a unique disaster management app that focuses on how to support people on the ground in a crisis. We’ll use tools such as Figma and Adobe XD to bring to life the interface that will help communicate critical information to the users we want to put in place. This paper focuses on the pilot study to evaluate the best use cases for this tool, after which will begin the development process further testing with those tools then we’ll start the coding process. This study takes the research process, we would like to go with a qualitative approach, with case studies and possibly interviews to best understand our user’s needs and best ways to access critical data during life-threatening situations. That will allow us to better understand our audience and provide us with the necessary data to improve our product. We’ll have a case study based on a particular scenario that will involve using our app, to allow a better understanding.
Introduction
Hazard emergency is here to help save more life and bring more knowledge to people in an emergency situation. Be able to notify rescue teams when in an emergency situation. Be able to track family members and close friends in cities to make sure they’re safe. We drew inspiration from various other apps but we tried to be different. After scanning the QR code you’ll get the opportunity to try the app and experience it in your way.
Design Considerations
Red is usually associated with energy, action, or danger. For this reason, we selected a choice of color, we decided to go with red as the dominant color due to the nature of our app and the awareness we’re bringing to people. Red is usually associated with energy, action, or danger. This is exactly the kind of vibe we want our app to have. The use of color will help us guide our users to understand the current situation in their location or the various locations they choose to track on the App. For our secondary color, we decided to go with dark blue. Which is often used in branding and design to convey a sense of professionalism, authority, and reliability. There will be four principal pages incorporated into the app. The first one is the home page, second we have the hazard page, third we have resources, and fourth we have the profile page. On the home page, we’ll have the current location of the user and all the other locations that he chooses to track (why did you make these choices? Tell us!). This can be to help the user track locations of their family members and keep them up to date. The condition of these locations will be changing based on the current condition in these places. There will be a warning icon next to these locations for critical conditions (what does the warning icon look like? What purpose does it serve? Can you click on it to get more information?). That will help with bringing more attention to the places with a national emergency warning.
